The Jimmy Dixon GrouP - EPK

Details
The Jimmy Dixon Group is a feel-good rock & roll band rooted in California soul and built from unexpected roadside encounters, dusty gear, and a shared love of odd time signatures. With a lineup of musicians who each bring their own backstory and flavor, the band delivers guitar-driven tracks that are both raw and thoughtful. Their first two albums, The Rough Demos and The Rough Demos II, capture that spontaneous spirit, with more music already in the works. Based somewhere between a bar gig and a studio with a door left open, The Jimmy Dixon Group is all heart—flaws and all.

Bio
The Jimmy Dixon Group is a feel-good rock band with a story as colorful as their sound. Led by singer-songwriter Jimmy Dixon (lead vocals and guitar), the group came together through a series of chance encounters and roadside jam sessions that stretch from Oklahoma to Alabama to the New Mexico desert. What started as a solo act has grown into a seven-piece band featuring Capo Dixon on rhythm guitar, “Midnight” Mae Dixon on piano, Benmont Dixon on strings, Chubbs Dixon on drums, Gary Dixon on bass and backing vocals, and Cranky Dixon on lead guitar—none of whom are related, despite all sharing the last name “Dixon.” Their music blends vintage electric guitar tones, thoughtful lyrics, and a genuine love for rock & roll that feels both familiar and fresh.
The band has released two albums—The Rough Demos and The Rough Demos II—both recorded wherever they could find a quiet studio and a willing engineer. Their track “Peters Pool” even hit #1 on The Emerging 300 Artist chart. With nods to influences like Nick Drake, Tom Petty, and Bob Dylan, The Jimmy Dixon Group has carved out their own lane in today’s rock scene. With two full-length albums under their belt and years of stage experience, the band continues to push their sound forward—blending rhythmic complexity with melodic storytelling in a way that’s entirely their own. And as always, with The Jimmy Dixon Group, flubs, flaws, and faults are part of the charm.
