PROPPAGANDA - EPK
Details
PROPPAGANDA is a California-based electronic artist well-known as “Dance Music’s Daredevil,” building a lane where high-risk performance and forward-thinking dance music collide. Led by Bry Stevens, the project challenges traditional DJ culture by treating live sets as physical, cinematic events, and not just performances.
In terms of sound, PROPPAGANDA delivers a modern, high-energy style rooted in techno and tech house, designed to work just as hard on festival main stages as it does in warehouse after-hours rooms. His path into music was anything but typical. He taught himself to DJ just weeks before opening for Zeds Dead in front of 3,300 people, then dropped out of college and moved to Los Angeles to pursue the project full-time. Since then, he has spent years refining his production, visual identity, and performance concepts before formally launching the project.
Beyond the spectacle, PROPPAGANDA operates with clear intent. Each concept is paired with tangible philanthropic efforts, using the reach of these performances to support local causes and individuals connected to the places he performs. With a rapidly growing global audience and a reputation for executing ideas most artists wouldn’t attempt, PROPPAGANDA is defining a new category at the intersection of electronic music and extreme performance. As a true Extreme Sport DJ.

sonar sessions 001
Sonar Sessions 001 marked the moment PROPPAGANDA moved beyond the traditional DJ booth and into uncharted territory. Filmed 50 feet underwater at a sunken ship in the Bahamas, the performance placed the California-based electronic artist directly inside the environment he was scoring: surrounded by more than 40 sharks in a setting where timing, precision, and trust were as critical as the music itself. The project took nearly a decade of preparation, not only to ensure the technical feasibility of the stunt, but to guarantee the music could carry the weight of the spectacle.
Released as a live performance film on YouTube, Sonar Sessions 001 quickly became a breakout moment for the project, surpassing 700,000 views and pushing PROPPAGANDA’s channel past 78,000 subscribers. Sonically, the set blends future-facing techno and high-energy dance music curated specifically for the underwater setting, reinforcing the project’s commitment to intentional, site-specific sound design. Beyond the visuals, Sonar Sessions 001 also raised funds for shark conservation through Project Hiu, establishing the core mission that would define future sessions: merging extreme performance, cinematic storytelling, and meaningful social impact into a single, unforgettable experience.
If Sonar Sessions 001 explored depth, Aerial Sessions 001 embraces altitude. Recorded 11,200 feet in the sky above Praia Grande, Brazil, this installment captures PROPPAGANDA performing a full DJ set on a custom platform suspended beneath a hot air balloon. The result is a rare convergence of electronic music, aerial stunt execution, and cinematic scale. An environment where gravity, weather, and motion become part of the performance itself.
Released alongside an 11-track mixtape, Aerial Sessions 001 expands the sonic palette introduced in Sonar Sessions, blending cinematic intros, Latin-influenced tech house, and future-forward techno designed to match the vastness of the setting. Every transition, build, and drop is constructed with the visuals in mind, reinforcing PROPPAGANDA’s philosophy that music and environment should function as one experience, not separate elements.
Continuing the project’s philanthropic foundation, Aerial Sessions 001 supports a local Brazilian skateboarder, Paola, helping provide equipment and travel resources so she can compete internationally. In doing so, the session reinforces PROPPAGANDA’s evolving identity, not just as “Dance Music’s Daredevil,” but as a creator committed to leaving each location better than he found it, turning spectacle into purpose and performance into lasting impact.
